Summer conference season is here. Election officials will be attending the Election Center’s National Conference, state association summer meetings, and a long list of regional trainings over the coming weeks. The operational security habits that protect those events and the people in them are low-cost and within reach right now. Conference security is a team sport, and it works best when organizers and participants are pulling in the same direction.
On June 5, 2026 at 12:00 pm ET, the Election Security Exchange and the Coalition of Election Association Leaders (CEAL), a project of Election Center, are bringing together three recognized leaders to walk through First Things First: Conference Security. Part I is for conference organizers. Part II is for the people attending them. You will leave with a clear sense of your role as well as two short guides to help you plan and prepare for your next event, whether you are the planner or the attendee.
